Jenny is a senior at Interlake High School in Bellevue, WA. She is involved as a senior class representative, currently planning fundraisers, graduation, and prom. Her vision is to create a welcoming atmosphere at Interlake by doing her best to serve the student body. As president of Bellevue Youth Council, she works closely with other student leaders and organizations in the community to undertake different beneficial service projects and discuss issues related to young people. Jenny cherishes being a part of BYC because the results of their efforts are very tangible, whether it be collecting over 3,000 coats for struggling families in Bellevue, or organizing the annual Community Leadership Awards to honor high-achieving Bellevue schools students.
Jenny enjoys music and plays the viola in the Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra. Although her interests are widespread, she wants to focus on biobehavioral science and public affairs in the future.
Jenny was born in China, but she moved to the U.S. with her parents when she was just three years old. She is grateful to have lived in the city of Bellevue for 10 years, which has been awarded by America’s Promise Alliance six times as one of the best communities for young people.
